Archive of Matter(s) is an artistic research platform working — on, with, and through — Matter(s). Copper, Fine Dust, Saharan Dust, Weather — these are not simply research subjects. Each carries the traces of colonial history, ecological crisis, and political entanglement within its very substance, already present in the everyday environments we breathe and touch. Rather than relying on histories written by the victors, Archive of Matter(s) seeks to build an alternative field of narratives — ones shaped by Matter(s) itself.
To work with and through Matter(s) is to recognize that Matter(s) is already vibrant. It has always been vibrating, accumulating, flowing — across time, through bodies, carrying the forces that shaped it. Not a witness waiting to be read, but an accomplice already in motion. The human body is caught in this same current: a porous, unguarded passage through which toxic air, radioactive dust, and polluted weather continuously move. Each material in Archive of Matter(s) is a site of inquiry — not to be represented, but to be sensed, built with, and performed through. We attempt this entire process as a decolonial artistic practice.

아카이브 오브 매터(즈)는 물질(들)을 연구하고, 물질(들)과 함께, 물질(들)을 통해 실천하는 아티스틱 리서치 플랫폼이다.

이 물질(들)은 단순한 연구 대상에 머물지 않는다. 각각의 물질은 식민주의의 역사와 생태적 위기, 정치적 얽힘의 흔적을 간직한 채, 우리가 숨 쉬고 만지는 일상의 환경 속에 이미 존재하고 있다. 아카이브 오브 매터(즈)는 승자가 기록해 온 역사에 기대기보다, 물질 스스로가 만들어가는 대안의 서사와 장을 구축하고자 한다.
물질(들)과 함께 혹은 물질(들)을 통해 작업한다는 것은 물질(들)이 생동하고 있음을 인지하는 일이다. 이들은 언제나 자신을 빚어낸 힘들을 고스란히 품은 채로, 시간을 가로지르고 여러 신체를 통과하며 끊임없이 진동하고 축적되며 흘러왔다. 이들은 해석되기를 기다리는 수동적인 증인이 아닌, 이미 행동하고 있는 공모자들이다.
인간의 신체 역시 이 거대한 흐름 속에 얽혀 있다. 우리의 몸은 다공적이고 무방비한 통로가 되어, 독성 공기와 방사성 먼지, 오염된 날씨가 그 안을 쉼 없이 통과한다. 아카이브 오브 매터(즈)가 다루는 각각의 물질(들)은 단순히 재현되는 대상이 아니라, 감각하고 직조하며 기꺼이 몸으로 수행해 내야 할 탐구의 현장이 된다. 우리는 이 모든 과정을 하나의 탈식민적 예술 실천으로 시도하고자 한다.
