The second prototype, D-Scape 2.0, confronts the “fundamental ambiguity” of fine dust that drifts between indeterminate states.
D-Beacon, placed at the center of the exhibition space, continuously controls the processes of sensing, measuring, and observing dust. The cycle repeats endlessly: matter shifts between dust and data, and its state keeps toggling between visibility and invisibility, sensing and non-sensing. The measured data turns into new fine dust, which forms a dust landscape that fills the space. The landscape then becomes data once more, and the cycle of sensing, measuring, and observing starts over.
